OCTOBER 2010 FLASHBACK: Thai rain making comes to Qld

royal_rain_maker.jpgOCTOBER 2010 FLASHBACK: (SMH) A rain-making method developed by Thai king Bhumipol Adulyadej is set to aid Queensland in battles with drought after an agreement between the state government and the Thai royal household. The Queensland government's access to the rain-making technology, developed by King Bhumipol over the past 30 years, came a year after the state approached the royal household last year. As a result, Queensland is set to be the first major region outside Thailand where the rain-making technology will be put into full effect. read more

Was the "full effect" three months later from nature or from another screw up by the Bligh government that caused innocent deaths, destruction, lower property values, public debt, and a walk in next election for a woman that most hated before the "full effect" 2011 floods? Those fascist (government merged with unelected corporations) clowns can't even get the municipal drinking water mass medication dosages right.  Thanks to our reader 'rjw' for this important flashback reminder.

Coal miners to blame for Queensland floods, says Australian Greens leader Bob Brown

unnatural_bob_brown.jpg

(CourierMail) GREENS leader Bob Brown says the coal mining industry should foot the bill for the Queensland floods because it helped cause them. The floods are Queensland's worst for nearly 40 years, with more than 26,000 homes affected and at least 16 people killed. Senator Brown said the Federal Government should impose the original version of the Resources Super Profits Tax, and use the funds to pay for the clean-up. "It's the single biggest cause – burning coal – for climate change and it must take its major share of responsibility for the weather events we are seeing unfolding now," he said in Hobart today. read more

Who without blinking would the coal mines pass the "Resources Super Profits Tax" onto? Yes the consumer that's already paying way too much. The day we see two male hump back whales doing what Bob Brown does we'll happily replace "un-natural" with "natural". This is the same Bob Brown that was done and dusted until an unelected business man called Dick Smith came along and funded Bob Brown with private capital. Two things of many that should be left to fail naturally  — private banks like Goldman Sachs and washed up politicians like Bob Brown.

jordan_rice.jpg

(SMH) IT IS almost unimaginable the fear 13-year-old Jordan Rice would have felt as the car he and his family were in was pummelled by a wall of water. But as it began engulfing the vehicle, Jordan, who could not swim himself, insisted his younger brother, Blake, 10, be rescued first. read more

I'm proud to be a fellow Queenslander (90km's from the flood) with young men like Jordan around. May you and your dear mum rest in peace young mate.
