Man who threatened to kill MPs avoids jail

(YAHOO7NEWS) A Melbourne man who told Attorney-General Nicola Roxon and a Victorian state MP he could save taxpayers a lot of money if he shot them has avoided jail.

Mark Steven Andrew, 52, told Ms Roxon and the state member for Altona, Jill Hennessy, at a pre-Anzac Day wreath-laying ceremony in Melbourne “I’ve got two of you in the one place which makes it easier to take you both out”.

Andrew, of Altona, was on Wednesday sentenced to an 18-month community corrections order and 200 hours of community service after pleading guilty to two counts of making a threat to kill. Read more
