Coal miners to blame for Queensland floods, says Australian Greens leader Bob Brown

(CourierMail) GREENS leader Bob Brown says the coal mining industry should foot the bill for the Queensland floods because it helped cause them. The floods are Queensland’s worst for nearly 40 years, with more than 26,000 homes affected and at least 16 people killed. Senator Brown said the Federal Government should impose the original version of the Resources Super Profits Tax, and use the funds to pay for the clean-up. “It’s the single biggest cause – burning coal – for climate change and it must take its major share of responsibility for the weather events we are seeing unfolding now,” he said in Hobart today. read more

Who without blinking would the coal mines pass the “Resources Super Profits Tax” onto? Yes the consumer that’s already paying way too much. The day we see two male hump back whales doing what Bob Brown does we’ll happily replace “un-natural” with “natural”. This is the same Bob Brown that was done and dusted until an unelected business man called Dick Smith came along and funded Bob Brown with private capital. Two things of many that should be left to fail naturally  — private banks like Goldman Sachs and washed up politicians like Bob Brown.

Here’s the link about Bob getting funding from Smith..

Bob has his heart set on a Carbon tax and I am not sure if he is stupid, or just doesn’t give a toss if he just sounds stupid when he makes statements like this.
The idea that paying more taxes will save our planet from the ‘weather’ is lunacy on legs.
I wonder who he thinks caused the 1893 floods of the same caliber, in same area.

Great point. Here’s a chart showing all the flood levels since 1841…

Bob has had his time in the sun and should exile himself to the Florida Quays.

I am tired of the fabricated AGW nonsense. Bob is typical of the left; void of facts, full of emotion and always willing to undermine Australian society, culture and institutions.

By the way ‘do you have a link or any info. on Dick Smith funding Bob?’

    Admin., Cheers for the link.

There are still many gullible Aussies out there who falsely believe Dick Smith is a champion of the Australian people but he is not. Dick may favour lower population growth in Australia but he still supports a carbon tax, global warming hoax (even though he gets around the world in his carbon dioxide creating machines) and multiculturalism. He talks about Australian manufacturing but imported all his electronic wares from China (when he owned DSE), he had an opportunity to pressure successive Govts. to become more focused on providing incentives and tax relief for manufacturers but sat on his fingers.

Dick is involved with the Stable Population party and so is Bob Carr. There’s another traitor, he quietened Peter Ryan, the Police Commissioner when Peter spoke about ethnic crime but as soon as he left politics Bob spoke freely about criminal multiculturalism.

Keep up the good work – great site.
